The focus of this project is to enable the Port of Huelva and its auxiliary companies to quantify their carbon dioxide emissions through a technology tool based on Artificial Intelligence, providing a global view of their activity with extra control over this parameter on an individualized basis. It aims to meet the needs of public entities, as well as large corporations, to comply with new legal requirements (both national and international) regarding environmental matters, which demand the calculation, verification, and reduction of their carbon footprint.

The main opportunity they identify is to improve the accessibility to the necessary data for this quantification, considering the large number of agents and processes involved. Therefore, by developing an app with a simple and dynamic dashboard, they aim to quickly and exhaustively collect all the necessary data.

Their proposal offers several innovative aspects, among which are: improving the environment in which it is developed, namely immediacy. They understand this aspect as a significant competitive advantage, as it generates faster delivery and higher quality of data, which were usually compiled annually, to be known almost in real-time.

Accessibility for direct and indirect clients and work environments is enhanced, as the technological development leads to the awareness of all stakeholders in the goal of footprint control.

The generation and processing of data often cause uncertainty and distrust. Numerical analysis or calculation processes associated with this computation serve as a mirror of trust and proximity, consolidating a community relationship among all parties.

Technology is one of the moorings where this project is anchored. Without the development of parameters in a technological support with Artificial Intelligence, this project would lack innovation and development. The value proposition in this aspect is vital. It will help improve business processes, reduce management time, and even avoid human errors by automating some processes.

Regarding whether they face a scalable business, it should be noted that it fits this definition, as:

  • They can handle a significant increase in clients or users without needing to raise costs.
  • They are in constant search of continuous improvement strategies to perfect and make processes more efficient.
  • They adapt to continuous change.
  • They overcome stagnation by offering their services to more clients with a small investment.
